The City of Oakland Park is turning two City-owned lots on NE 35th Street into a Florida-native botanical garden. It is planned, not yet built: the groundbreaking is Wednesday 28 October 2026 at 10 am. Here is what is coming, who is building it and where it is.

3541 NE 13th Ave, Units A and B, sit beside the garden lots; the back balconies look straight over them. Each home has its own private plunge pool and yard.
“The garden will feature native plantings, shaded pathways, open meadows, and lowland landscapes that support biodiversity and integrate natural stormwater management.”
Cadence, the garden's landscape architects
Cadence calls it “a model for rewilding underutilized urban land”, designed to show how native plants and wildlife change through the year.
